HOW TO FIND US

The Wadlata Outback Centre is situated at 41 Flinders Tce in Port Augusta.

Entering the City from the south via Highway One, turn left at the second set of stop lights and look for the building with the windmill on top.

Entering from the west or north, turn right at the 2nd set of traffic lights.

The nationally accredited Wadlata Outback Centre, winner of 6 South Australian Tourism Awards is a multi functional major visitor information centre, a must for all visitors travelling to or through the Region.

The Centre houses:

  • The “Outback’s Discovery Centre...Tunnel of Time”
  • Visitor Information Centre- Nationally Accredited
  • A large gift shop with real Aussie products
  • Original local and Regional Aboriginal Art
  • The Outback Tuckerbox
  • Restroom with disabled facilities

  • After hours visitor information – an interactive kiosk, Port Augusta Visitor Guides and maps are left outside the main door.

The name "Wadlata" is an Aboriginal "Parnkhalla" word, which means to "teach, say or communicate".
